My Introduction to The Baby Signs® Program
My husband and I first heard about signing with babies when our daughter was a baby and decided to research it further. After discovering the many benefits of signing, we quickly decided to give it a try.We began introducing signs to our daughter when she was about 7 months old.We were astonished when her first sign, CEREAL, came within 6 weeks! She caught on quickly and soon was signing regularly to tell us what she was thinking or needing. It was amazing!
As others noticed her signing, they often wished aloud for a class to help them learn how to sign with their own babies. Since I already knew how much I loved to talk about our signing journey, I decided to become an Independent Certified Instructor so I could teach the classes myself! I have been teaching classes since October 2006 and am loving every minute of it!
